2-Advance Sound Designing

Learn how to design sounds from scratch using some of the most famous third party plugins such as Xfer’s Serum, NI’s Massive X, Faceplant, Slate Digital’s ANA2 etc. This module takes you through the fundamentals of using and virtual instrument for sound layering, sampling and sound designing in detail. At the end of this module, you will be able to create basic and complex sounds using a plugin of your choice.

    Synthesis and types of synthesis : Introducing Oscilators, Filters and Envelops and LFO. Understanding the signal flow and types of synths based on construction

    Understanding the layering of synth sounds and correction of LFO phase issues. Understanding the tempo based changes in LFO, mapping manually and synthesis based on genre and automation

  • Daisy Chain and External MIDI Synths

    Brief introduction to daisy chain and using external synths into DAW. Understanding the routing and assigning for master / sleave synths and MIDI for daisy chain. CC message mapping and learning the ineage of Moog, Korg, Roland Etc.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

A student who aspires to become a music composer, music producer, music director or anyone with prior knowledge of music production and advanced Ableton functionality now wishes to learn the creative aspect of music-making as well as compositional skills and understand the principles of songwriting to compose and produce their own song. Advanced Sound Design course is to help the music producer learn advanced concepts like synthesizing and sampling to enhance your music production capabilities.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY?

1. Understanding of Ableton Live basics and working principles

2. Understanding aspects of ableton routing , MIDI and Audio workflow along with Ableton racks, instruments, effects etc

3. There is no minimum age requirement

Rules to apply for the course.

1.Student has to submit the proof of knowledge for Ableton Live training if he/she has taken training elsewhere prior to apply for this course

2. A thorough screening test will be conducted to validate the submitted document of DAW training

3. Upgrade is feasible when the person has completed the Ableton Basic ( 1 Month ) and Ableton Advanced ( 1 Month ) and Songwriting and Sound Design Course ( 2 months ) is completed from LSA

What are In the Studio courses?

Live offline classes or “In the Studio” courses are in-person classes or group sessions conducted by our experienced faculty team at our academy in Mumbai. All offline live classes include Ableton Live Suite EDU license, Free All Access Pass and other benefits. Complete details about the course modules and benefits are listed on the respective course pages.

Where is the Academy located?

Lost Stories Academy is located in Chembur, Mumbai where offline or “In the Studio” courses are conducted.

How many students are there in one batch?

In the studio classes have a limit of 15 students per batch for practical lectures.

How do I confirm my seat or enrol in the course?

We offer 2 modes of payment. If you want to pay online in order to confirm your seat, a non-refundable advance payment of 100% is payable via secured online payment gateway on our website. If you want to pay via cheque/bank transfer to confirm your seat, a non-refundable advance payment of1st instalment or 50% of the course fee is payable through cheque/bank transfer. The student receives a confirmation email about the course enrolment as soon as we successfully receive the transfer. The student is then added to a whatsapp group where further details about the batch commencement is communicated. In case of cheque/bank transfer, the pending 50% fee or the remaining instalments are payable within 2 months of the course commencement. Complete details about the instalments is listed on the respective course pages.

What happens if I fail to clear the pending fees?

In case of some students failing to clear the pending fees, their access to all the course benefits is revoked. Furthermore, they will not be allowed to attend the remaining sessions.

What necessary things are required to take this course properly?

Students are requested to carry their laptop to take important notes during the sessions and a studio quality headphone to practise exercises related to music production. Students can take advantage of in-person feedback (unlimited) from our experienced faculty whenever they have new demos ready.

Do you offer EMI or instalments?

Students can avail EMI or Pay Later options on our online payment gateways (Razorpay or PayTM) as per the payment gateways’ Terms & Conditions or get in touch with our representative for offline partners.In case, if students wish to pay via cheque/bank transfer, we offer two to three instalments, depending on the course. A non-refundable advance payment of 50% or one instalment is payable via bank transfer in order to confirm the seat. The student receives a confirmation email about the course enrolment as soon as we successfully receive the transfer.

Do you offer demo sessions for In the Studio course?

We do not offer demo sessions. We suggest students to get in touch with our offline and online course Alumni or go through testimonials on our website, talk to our representative in case of any doubts and to get an idea about the quality of education we provide, before enrolment.

What happens if I miss a session?

In case you miss a session, you can go through the recorded live session video (screen recording) which is made available to the students in the membership area on our website on the same day of the live offline session. We try to also accommodate you in the next batch for the topic you have missed, subject to seat availability in that batch.

Which DAW is used for in the studio sessions?

In the studio sessions are conducted using the latest Ableton Live Suite version.

Are there any pre-requisites to join this course?

Students should have a laptop and a studio quality headphone in order to make the most out of this course. Knowing how to play an instrument also helps in understanding music theory better but it is not a pre-requisite as we teach music theory from scratch in the studio.
