What is an All-Access Pass?

All-access pass gives you unlimited access to all recorded courses, ear training games, podcasts on our website by paying a monthly or an annual subscription fee. Our courses cover various topics on music production of varied genres be it Bollywood and western dance music along with mixing and mastering, audio engineering, music business, social media and marketing. In short, it is a one-stop shop of music education.

Can I upgrade from monthly to annual plan?

You can choose annual subscription after your monthly subscription ends.

How do I access the library after buying the pass?

Once you buy the all-access pass, you can log in using your username and password by clicking on the members area. After logging in, you will see all the available courses, games and podcasts.

What happens once I cancel my pass?

Once you cancel your subscription, you lose the unlimited access to the recorded courses, games and podcasts.

Do you offer a refund?

We offer a free preview to a lot of our lessons across different courses to give you an idea about the courses we offer, before you buy the subscription. We do not offer a refund since the subscription also offer free premium quality audio samples and other resources.

Do you offer a free trial period?

Once you register with your account on our website, you will have access to a free course and multiple free lessons across different courses.

Can I download or share content with others?

Sharing content or your account details with others is strictly prohibited and illegal. We only offer single-user access.

What is the difference between All Access Pass and Live online classes?

All Access Pass gives you full access to our library of recorded courses, interactive games and royalty free samples. Live online classes offer virtual training conducted in real time over Zoom software with our experienced faculty members.

What is the difference between All Access Pass and In the Studio sessions?

All Access Pass gives you full access to our library of recorded courses, interactive games and royalty free samples. In the studio course offers offline sessions or in-person sessions conducted at our studio in Mumbai with our experienced faculty members.

What are LSA coins? Can I buy more coins?

LSA coins can be used to buy/download royalty free audio samples and other resources on our website. LSA coins are included when you purchase or enrol in any paid course offered on our website. At present, we do not offer an option to buy or add more coins.

What happens if I enrol in the live class after buying the All Access pass subscription?

If you enrol in the Live class with an active monthly or annual All Access Pass subscription, the free subscription to All Access Pass which is included in the Live Class starts once the active subscription ends.

What is the difference between All Access Pass & Single courses?

All-Access Pass gives unlimited access to all the recorded courses, games, and podcasts for one fixed fee on a monthly or yearly basis whereas Single courses give unlimited access to the selected course on a monthly basis. Both All Access Pass and Single courses include complimentary access to LSA forums/community and other recorded courses advantages such as LSA coins to download premium audio samples.

What is an online live class?

An online live class is an interactive class conducted in real time over Zoom software with experienced instructors at LSA. There are multiple courses offered through online live classes covering Ableton Live training, sound designing, mixing & mastering, sound & audio for TV and films, audio engineering, music business etc

How are Live classes conducted
Live classes are conducted on Zoom, a cloud based video solution software. Live classes cater to students across the country and furthermore, different countries.

How many students are there in one Live class?

Live classes do not have a maximum cap on the number of students per batch.

How do I confirm my seat or enrol in the Live class?
In order to confirm your seat, a non-refundable advance payment of 1st instalment or 50%of the course fee is payable via bank transfer. The student receives a confirmation email about the course enrolment as soon as we successfully receive the transfer. The pending instalments or 50% fee is payable within 1-2 months of the course commencement. Students can also choose to pay online on our website via Razorpay through easy EMI facilities.

What happens if I fail to clear the pending fees?

In case of some students failing to clear the pending fees, their access to all the course benefits will be revoked and they will not be allowed to attend the remaining sessions. Furthermore, their access to the recorded live sessions and all access pass along with other benefits is revoked too.

Do you offer EMI and instalments?

Yes. If you wish to pay via bank transfer, we offer 2 to 3 instalments depending on the course you select. If you wish to avail of the EMI facility, you can speak with our representative.

Which DAW is used for in the Live Class?

Live classes are conducted using the latest Ableton Live Suite version.

What necessary things are required to take the Live Class?

Students are requested to have a laptop/desktop with an active internet connection, a studio quality headphone, Zoom video solution software and Ableton live Suite installed.

What happens if I miss a session?

In case you miss a session, you can go through the recorded live session video which is made available to the students in the membership area on our website on the same day of the live session.

Do you offer demo sessions for Live class?

We do not offer demo sessions. We suggest students to get in touch with our Online course Alumni or go through testimonials on our website, talk to our representative in case of any doubts and to get an idea about the quality of education we provide, before enrolment.

Are there any pre requisites to join the Live classes?

Students are requested to have a laptop/desktop with an active internet connection, a studio quality headphone, Zoom video solution software and Ableton live Suite installed.

What are In the Studio courses?

Live offline classes or “In the Studio” courses are in-person classes or group sessions conducted by our experienced faculty team at our academy in Mumbai. All offline live classes include Ableton Live Suite EDU license, Free All Access Pass and other benefits. Complete details about the course modules and benefits are listed on the respective course pages.

Where is the Academy located?

Lost Stories Academy is located in Chembur, Mumbai where offline or “In the Studio” courses are conducted.

How many students are there in one batch?

In the studio classes have a limit of 6 students per batch for practical lectures.

How do I confirm my seat or enrol in the course?

We offer 2 modes of payment. If you want to pay online in order to confirm your seat, a non-refundable advance payment of 100% is payable via secured online payment gateway on our website. If you want to pay via cheque/bank transfer to confirm your seat, a non-refundable advance payment of 1st instalment or 50% of the course fee is payable through cheque/bank transfer. The student receives a confirmation email about the course enrolment as soon as we successfully receive the transfer. The student is then added to a whatsapp group where further details about the batch commencement is communicated. In case of cheque/bank transfer, the pending 50% fee or the remaining instalments are payable within 2 months of the course commencement. What happens if I fail to clear the pending fees?

In case of some students failing to clear the pending fees, their access to all the course benefits is revoked. Furthermore, they will not be allowed to attend the remaining sessions.

What necessary things are required to take this course properly?

Students are requested to carry their laptop to take important notes during the sessions and a studio quality headphone to practise exercises related to music production. Students can take advantage of in-person feedback (unlimited) from our experienced faculty whenever they have new demos ready.

Do you offer EMI or instalments?

Students can avail EMI or Pay Later options on our online payment gateways (Razorpay or PayTM) as per the payment gateways’ Terms & Conditions or get in touch with our representative for offline partners. In case, if students wish to pay via cheque/bank transfer, we offer two to three instalments, depending on the course. A non-refundable advance payment of 50% or one instalment is payable via bank transfer in order to confirm the seat. The student receives a confirmation email about the course enrolment as soon as we successfully receive the transfer.

Do you offer demo sessions for In the Studio course?

We do not offer demo sessions. We suggest students to get in touch with our offline and online course Alumni or go through testimonials on our website, talk to our representative in case of any doubts and to get an idea about the quality of education we provide, before enrolment.

What happens if I miss a session?

In case you miss a session, you can go through the recorded live session video (screen recording) which is made available to the students in the membership area on our website on the same day of the live offline session. We try to also accommodate you in the next batch for the topic you have missed, subject to seat availability in that batch.

Which DAW is used for in the studio sessions?

In the studio sessions are conducted using the latest Ableton Live Suite version.

Are there any pre-requisites to join this course?

Students should have a laptop and a studio quality headphone in order to make the most out of this course. Knowing how to play an instrument also helps in understanding music theory better but it is not a pre-requisite as we teach music theory from scratch in the studio.

How can I enrol in the GOLD course?

We offer a very limited number of enrolments to the GOLD course every year. In order to enrol in the GOLD course, its mandatory to successfully complete Music PRODIGY course first. Post the completion of the PRODIGY course and after thorough assessment, a qualifying student is given an option to upgrade to the remaining modules of the GOLD course and its benefits by paying the fee difference. The additional modules covered are The Next Big DJ (1 month) & Audio & Video Post-Production (1 month). Some of the GOLD course benefits include Photoshoot, social media assets and demo drop with a record label.

I don’t know how to play any instrument. I don’t know music theory. Can I join live class or In the Studio course?

Although knowing how to play an instrument can really help to understand music theory and write better music composition, it is not mandatory or a pre-requisite to join our courses as we cover music theory in detail. Complete details about the eligibility criteria is listed on the respective course pages.

I am new to music. Which course should I join? I have been producing music for a while. Which course is for me?

If you’re new to music, you can start with our online or offline one month Ableton Live classes and gradually move on to two-month sound design, music theory course or mix/master course. It is also possible to upgrade from one month course to six months, nine months or 12 months depending on what you want to learn.

I want to learn just one module from the course. Is it possible?

We offer Ableton Live training basics and advanced (1 month each), song writing, music theory & sound design (2 months) and Advance Mixing and Mastering (2 months) as separate modules. Rest of the modules are offered under a specific course only.

I don’t want the benefits. Can I get a discount instead?

The benefits included in the course for free cannot be traded in return for a discount or transferred to someone else.

Is the course fee inclusive of taxes?

Yes, all our courses are inclusive of 18% GST.

Can I claim GST input credit?

Yes. In order to claim GST input credit, please provide your GST number along with the invoice details to our representative at the time of enrolment.

Do you offer guaranteed placements after the course completion?

Placements are not guaranteed. We try our best to connect our students with the industry professionals who could provide them with work based on the quality of work submitted to them and the opportunities present with them.

What kind of support do you offer to the students after the course is completed?

We offer continued support to all our students after they have successfully completed the course. We provide them with timely feedback on demos, any opportunities related to music production work, demo submissions, discounts on plugins, networking opportunities etc.

Do you provide a certificate after the course completion?

We provide a course completion certificate after the students have successfully completed the course.

Are you affiliated with any college or university?

We are a private institution, we are not affiliated with any other education body.

Will we require our own equipment? What equipment are we taught on?
You do not require your own equipment for the course. The course will be taught on the Pioneer CDJ-2000 NXS2 and DJM-900 NXS2 console at the Academy, which will be made available for you through the duration of the course

Will we be taught on software such as Traktor, Serato, etc?
The course will cover mixing on only the CDJs. However, the course includes a detailed insight into Rekordbox Music Management, and how to better manage and arrange your music using Rekordbox

Is the course certified?
Upon course completion, every student will receive a certificate stating he/she has completed the course from the Lost Stories Academy in Mumbai

How many students are accepted into one batch?
There will be a maximum of 6 students in each batch

Are students allowed to practice before/after sessions, and do they have access to the equipment apart from the training hours?
In addition to the training hours, students will be given specific practice & recording sessions. Subject to availability of the console, students can schedule practice hours at the Academy

Post course completion, does Lost Stories Academy provide placements?
The Lost Stories Academy will not provide guaranteed placements to students upon completion of the course. That being said, we do provide our DJ course students with regular performance opportunities from time to time. A large number of our past DJ students have gotten opportunities to perform at various Clubs & Festivals through a network of promoters we are in touch with. This, however, is subject to your performance through the duration of the course.
