Lost Stories Academy Partners with India Film Project as the Knowledge Partner for the 50 Hour Music Challenge

When creativity meets urgency, something remarkable happens. This is the spirit behind the 50 Hour Music Challenge hosted by India Film Project (IFP), Asia’s largest content festival celebrating creators across music, film, art, writing, and digital culture.

In 2025, Lost Stories Academy partnered with IFP as the Official Knowledge Partner for the challenge, supporting one of the most dynamic and inclusive platforms for new and emerging music creators across the country.

This collaboration wasn’t just about competition. It was about encouraging young artists to discover how far their creativity can stretch when given a stage, a brief, and a clock that doesn’t stop.

About the 50 Hour Music Challenge

The challenge is simple to describe, but transformative to experience:

Participants are tasked with creating an original song from scratch in just 50 hours.

No prior concepts.

No recycled drafts.

Just pure artistic instinct and teamwork, shaped under time pressure.

The challenge celebrates:

  • Spontaneity
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Collaboration
  • Original expression

These are the same values that form the foundation of how we teach and mentor artists at Lost Stories Academy.

Supporting India’s Emerging Music Community

Partnering with IFP allowed us to extend our commitment to nurturing India’s growing community of independent producers and composers. Through this association, we contributed our experience and perspective to highlight the importance of originality, structure, and production quality in music creation.

For LSA, this collaboration was another opportunity to stay connected to the country’s evolving creative scene, where new ideas, new sounds, and new artists continue to shape the future of music.

Why This Collaboration Matters

India’s independent music scene is expanding at an incredible pace. More artists are producing from home studios, building audiences online, and releasing music independently than ever before.

What many new creators lack is structured guidance and meaningful exposure.

The 50 Hour Music Challenge creates a rare space where:

  • New voices are heard
  • Risks are encouraged
  • Learning happens through doing
  • Originality is celebrated, not compared

By joining forces with IFP, we extended our mission of making professional music education accessible, relevant, and deeply connected to the real creative world.

Encouraging the Next Wave of Creators

Every initiative we take as an Academy is rooted in one belief:

Artists grow when they are given room to explore.

This partnership helped highlight emerging producers, composers, singers, and multi-instrumental creators who are not only making music but are shaping where Indian music is heading next.

Watching participants push boundaries, experiment with sound design, write emotionally honest lyrics, and collaborate under pressure reaffirmed what we have always known:

Talent grows faster when it is supported, challenged, and recognized.

Final Thoughts

Partnering with India Film Project allowed us to connect education with real creative spaces, where ideas aren’t just learned but lived.

This collaboration was not only about identifying finalists. It was about nurturing confidence, celebrating originality, and encouraging musicians to trust their own creative voice.

We are proud to continue supporting the next generation of artists who are redefining what it means to make music in India today.
